The Asotin County PUD protects your water by administering a cross connection control program (CCCP).
It is our commitment to provide you with the highest quality drinking water and to protect the water distribution system from contamination. The greatest public health risk lies in the introduction of a contaminant into the public water supply system through a cross-connection.
Backflow prevention devices are mechanical assemblies that help stop cross contamination of the clean water system. In order to prevent the occurrence of backflow, the PUD, City of Clarkston, Asotin County, and the State of Washington Department of Health regulations require the installation of backflow prevention devices on all non-drinking water systems.
Washington State Department of Health regulations require that all backflow assemblies be tested on an annual basis by a certified backflow assembly tester (BAT).
